Latest Updates from Our Project:

Box Design
almost 9 years ago – Wed, Jun 21, 2017 at 11:03:23 PM

Here is a sneak peek of the box art, however some minor changes are being made.

Jeff and I recently made some changes to the copy, as I forgot about adding all of the small parts choking hazard safety warnings.

The white areas of the box are where the UPC barcode will go. We added the barcode everywhere to make scanning it super easy and efficient.

Once this last bit is finished manufacturing will begin.

In other news, Alex and I have been diligently working on two sequels to The War in Christmas Village set. Buwahahaha!

Hello everyone!

I hope all is well, and I have an update. The manufacturer has completed a sample of the PVC playing pieces, the custom plastic tray insert, and sent me pictures.

Jeff Gaither is finished with the illustrations, the box design is more than half way finished. The goal is to have War in Christmas Village shipped out in July.

If you haven't filled out a survey via backerkit.com please do so, as I'll be processing the order on their site very soon.

Thank you :)

Final test run in PVC. The packaging will be of similar quality to the one behind the miniatures, different aesthetic of course.

Hello everyone, here are pictures, sent by the manufacturer in ShenZhen, of the final test run. I received these in the wee hours of the morning.

I also met with Jeff Gaither regarding the box design, and he took the painted model prototypes with him for artistic inspiration. As luck would have it, his stepson is a wargame player!

Hopefully "The War in Christmas Village" will be shipped out in time for a Christmas in July!

Artist Jeff Gaither

Hello, I've got some great news! The Kickstarter campaign raised a bit of surplus funds, so I decided to hire local artist Jeff Gaither to do the box design. Jeff has been illustrating for over 25 years and has created album cover art for bands like The Misfits and Guns N' Roses.

I met Jeff at The Market of Mischief in Louisville, KY while in scary cLoWn attire, but that's not a story for here. Jeff sells prints of his awesome art work at The Market of Mischief, and every time I thought of the package design for The War in Christmas Village I couldn't keep Jeff's aesthetic out of my head. I think his creative vision will be perfect for the box art and package design.

In other news Alex and I have started brainstorming and working on the sculpts for the next set of miniatures for The War in Christmas Village 2 campaign, which will hopefully be released at the end of this year. I'm still waiting for news from the manufacturer regarding production, and I eagerly await inspection of the final product.

Some of the amazing suggestions in the comments section are being featured in the next set of War in Christmas Village miniature designs, and I would love to hear more ideas and suggestions of what you'd like to see manufactured for upcoming War in Christmas Village miniature sets.

Have a great one :)
